The game nearly ends in a fight with his wife when the ball flies into the kitchen and into the dough she is mixing. A phone call from a friend asking him to go to a baseball game interrupts the game. At the dinner table, his wife asks him to take her walking in the park. Anxious to get out to the ball game, Vernon pretends he is very sick. Jackie is rushed for a doctor. The doctor prescribes many remedies, but his wife fears this physician is not capable. Consequently, she brings in another. Then the real fight begins, for when one doctor prescribes a mustard plaster, the other suggests an ice pack. Between the two fighting to put their favorite remedy on poor Vernon, the ''patient" forgets all about the ball game because the two doctors nearly wreck him as well as the room.
