SkySafari contains more astronomy knowledge than a lot of beginners books. I absolutely love it, and it is very well organized, so learning is easy. I am only on the free version, but there already is so much to discover. Anyway, I certainly will buy the complete version to support the great work behind this app !

The compass tool gives a handy overview. However, the Tonight section is totally inaccurate. Maybe it changes in the paid version but there's no indication that this is not current data. There is currently a major conjunction in Capricorn but the app tells me those planers are in Sagittarius.

I have a love hate relationship with the app ..it has been way off lately ...it showed the atlas c23 comet low to the horizon amd further to the sw of where it truly was. I was using the app to locate it had it not been for my neighbor seeing it do west and 1/3 up in the sky ..i would have missed seeing it as the app was considerably off and has been the last few times ive been looking for night objects..it used to be spot on but not the last few times sadly.. but it easy to use so thats nice...
