Google Earth is one of my most used and most favourite desktop apps of all time, however on a phone it is not nearly as good, lacking some basic and much used features. The most important of these is the ability to view high res photographs of the Earth at different points in time. While the phone app does have a 'timelapse' feature, it uses very low res pictures and a clunky interface and isn't very useful for most purposes. This is very disappointing and hardly seems worth installing over Maps

Google Earth used to work well, except for street names being shown. Currently, when I click the little street view dude, no blue highlighted roads show up, anywhere for any street. Also, street names and other labels don't show up even when the option to "show all" is turned on. Off or on its just as blank. Google Maps works fine, but I prefer to use Earth. Google maps only when I need directions not for exploring. Did Google disable street view?

I love to be able to look at satilight images of places I have been to or I'm going to. Fairly handy to find roads, places and points of interest. I think some of the Google Earth images are fake and I don't know why some areas are blocked from being looked at. I would also like to see more recent images some are quite old.
