First proposed in https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Project_chat/Archive/2019/10#Wikidata_needs_more_ways_to_quickly_and_easily_pull_from_existing_databases and recently raised again:
we should build a community-maintained external tools which reads basic information from Library of Congress Authorities, Find a Grave, IMDB, Getty Union List of Artist Names and other sources and converting them to Wikidata-comatible format.
Then, a gadget may be created to 1. import such statements to Wikidata, 2. add sources to existing claims and 3. creating new items from an external identifier.
This tool may also have a dedicated interface to disambiguate and convert (personal/place) names to Wikidata item.
