Provide Special:Contributions filter for semi-automated tools
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Contributions using popular tools such as Twinkle or STiki produce edit summaries of a standard format (e.g. Reverted 1 good faith edit by 127.0.0.1 using STiki).

It would be useful to have a filter option on Special:Contributions to not or to only include such edits.

Perhaps this would be better as a gadget then a change in MW. All the various wikis have different automated tools and it doesn't really make sense to hard code based on edit summary, within MW

A better solution, would be if instead of edit summaries, such tools could tag their edits ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=help&modules=tag ). We already have a tag filter on Special:Contributions (but, it can't be inverted)

It could be something configurable on a per-site basis, but...

Yes, I agree, that is better, and at least a couple (Huggle and WPCleaner) already do. So I've created a task for being able to invert.

Scott claimed this task.

Better solution would be tagging as @Bawolff suggests.
