When we created our Education Program aiming to create high quality articles on basic topics, we started thinking on the didactic of sciences, and how we could make better content for articles. Basque oral poetry is widely known by Basque schoolchildren, and the recently held Main Championship attracted more than 14,000 people to see it live. On 3rd December, Wikimedia Serbia celebrated 12 years since its founded. This year's celebration was also marked by another jubilee - 10 years since the first student article on Wikipedia in Serbian language was written, which was the official start of Wikipedia Education Program in Serbia. read more...
The WikiChallenge African Schools, an encyclopedic articles writing contest held in primary schools during 2017 in 4 African countries (Mali, Tunisia, Madagascar, and Guinea) and using WikiFundi as an editing platform, is now closed. All articles written have been retrieved and imported on to Vikidia successfully. A total of 33 schools actively participated and several of them reported a lot of excitement. We have different approaches when we want to create new partnerships with lecturers and professors to create new Wikipedia courses. Our main approach is their linguistic behaviour: Students search the web, they will find Wikipedia, and if they can not find it in our language, they are not going to use it. So many lecturers and professors ask, "What is missing in my topic?". At this moment, PetScan is your friend. read more...
