90° Optical Hybrid Front-End Circuit Fabricated by 3D Direct Laser Inscription

Abstract

We show the fabrication of a 90° optical hybrid front-end circuit by direct laser inscription. Excess loss of 1.4 dB with maximum phase error of 3.6 degrees were achieved using MMI-based devices and a novel 3-dimensional layout.
