Abstract

We present a continuously tunable optical frequency shifter which allows to choose any shift-frequency including fractions of the original signal bandwidth. A 1.6-Tb/s PDM-16QAM superchannel is arbitrarily frequency-shifted within THz-range during a 200-km error-free transmission.
