Lá não existem Flores! (Over there ain’t no Flowers!) Tells the story of a German immigrant member of the Kummer family, who came to Brazil in the mid-nineteenth century without knowing if he would stay for long.

In Brazilian lands felt in love and lived like no other man did. Here left no monuments in his honor, but marks that will remain for a long time - his offspring.

It was a simple man, lived as a true countryman used to walk on these lands without flowers. His first seed germinates and spread throughout Brazil.

The work is the result of almost a decade of research in archives, registries, libraries in Germany and Brazil, where are gathered testimonies, documents and nearly a hundred of old photographs, which shows through a realistic and honest approach, the hereditary meeting with our common genitor: Frederico Otto Kummer.

To get an idea to the author’s work, the publication profoundly runs through the Bavaria and Brazilian’s Pernambuco family origins, rescuing the teachings, genealogy, genetic and sociology from the ancient times of peasants, artisans, princes and citizens. Allowing us to meet the events involving his people, villages and hamlets, instilling us through the old European history until the vast arid northeast Brazil.

Kummer also wrote a detailed investigation of the origin of his surname, not forgetting his gene-cousins also present in southern’s Brazil. Breaking taboos to include a genetic study of the origins of the family, clarifying the many controversial and moral issues that shuffle up with his own family history based in the psychological-genealogy work from the Chilean therapist and filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky. Going forward he meditates, able to provide a new understanding on the individual’s own life.

The book holds the attention with the sixteenth to the late twentieth century countrymen histories, fulfilling the mission as a backdrop with the many Germans immigrants who chose the Brazil country to live.

É mais que uma modesta tentativa de apresentar a grande família Kummer, hoje espalhada por todos os cantos deste grande Brasil. A sabedoria de nossos antepassados, seus ensinamentos e como resolveram os problemas vivenciados por eles, sempre dentro de suas limitações conceituais.

O livro, fruto de oito anos de pesquisas em cartórios, arquivos, bibliotecas, fotos antigas e documentos cedidos gentilmente pelos membros da família, visa não só descobrir o passado histórico de nossos ancestrais, mas revelar que ter a visão no futuro ainda é o melhor que fazemos na vida.

Para se ter uma idéia do trabalho do autor, o leitor atravessará à origem Bávara e Pernambucana da família Kummer, resgatando os ensinamentos,genealogia, genética e sociologia dos primórdios camponeses, artesãos, príncipes e cidadãos. O autor apresenta-nos ainda os fortes filhos das terras áridas das comunidades brasileiras de Camaragibe, São Lourenço da Mata, Recife, em Pernambuco, Maceió, em Alagoas, somados as experiências herdadas dos antepassados do Rio Danúbio, na Alemanha, até as histórias de seus descendentes que viveram à margem do Rio São Francisco, na cidade interiorana de Porto Real do Colégio em Alagoas.

O livro prende a atenção com seus conterrâneos do século XVI até o final do século XX, cumprindo sua missão como pano de fundo dos muitos imigrantes alemães que escolheram o Brasil para morar.

Kummer também escreve uma detalhada investigação da origem do seu sobrenome, sem esquecer dos genéticos-primos presentes também no sul do país. Quebra tabus ao incluir um estudo genético das origens da família Kummer, esclarecendo as muitas questões de ordem moral e controversa de sua própria história familiar, baseando-se no trabalho de genealogia-psicológica desenvolvida pelo terapeuta e cineasta chileno Alejandro Jodorowsky. Indo além, medita, capaz de fornecer um novo entendimento à vida de cada indivíduo.
