I grew up in London and went to school in Canterbury, before studying Mathematics in Oxford (BA) and then Edinburgh (PhD), where I met my partner, Jemma. I did postdoctoral research in Rome, where our first child, Laura, was born, and then Adelaide, before returning to the UK, where I ended up back in Canterbury with a lecturing job at the University of Kent. We've been there since 2000, with two more children, Merlin and Shantih, appearing in an arithmetic progression with gap 4.

I've enjoyed playing with integer sequences since I was a schoolboy, and I'm very lucky to have a job which pays me to keep on playing.
