The Latin American cabinet at the American Numismatic Society is among the finest outside of Latin America, comprising around 32,000 objects. From Mexico and the Caribbean to the tip of Tierra del Fuego, the collection extends from the first coins struck in the New World to the present day. Some areas of particular strength include the coins of early colonial Mexico, the republics of Paraguay and Perú, and emergency issues of the Mexican Revolution of 1910–20.
