Network

Network Operations and Engineering teams provides data connectivity to all residential, administrative, academic, and research locations at the university. The network operations staff design and maintain the physical and wireless infrastructure that provides all communication services within buildings and between buildings throughout the Storrs and regional campuses as well as cooperative extensions.

The University is investing in refreshing the wired access layer, the largest component of the data network. Find out more about this five-year project.

Wireless (Wi-Fi)

UConn maintains three wireless networks:

UCONN-SECURE: Encrypted network that provides secure connectivity to the Internet. Recommended for all UConn members. Use your NetID (username) and password to set up.

UCONN GUEST: Unencrypted network that supports limited Internet connectivity

eduroam: A global network that allows Internet connectivity at many higher education institutions, libraries, and government facilities in the US and abroad
