Edward Greenspon is the President and CEO of the Public Policy Forum, a national applied policy think tank founded in the 1980s. Ed has worked at the intersection of journalism and public policy for more than 30 years.

Before joining PPF in 2016, Ed was a journalist with The Globe and Mail, Bloomberg News and newspapers in Western Canada. He is also the author of two books on Canadian politics and policy.

At PPF, Greenspon has headed up research and convening projects on the state of the news industry, what to do about online hate and disinformation, the social and economic determinants of growth and competitiveness, ensuring full and fair participation in the future of work and getting climate and energy policy working together – among other subjects.

Greenspon is the author of Double Vision: The Inside Story of the Liberals in Power, which won the 1996 Douglas Purvis Award for best public policy book, and of Searching for Certainty: Inside the New Canadian Mindset. He is a winner of PPF’s Hyman Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism. He currently sits on the boards of the Toronto Foundation and the Michener Awards Foundation.

He holds a combined honours degree in journalism and political science from Carleton University and has a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, where he was a Commonwealth scholar.
