Formatter URL is broken
editIt seems like this formatter URL no longer works for some video games since it gives 404 error (example). Strange things happen to IDs too. For example, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Q49607) was the first ID in the Gameblog database (https://www.gameblog.fr/jeux/1_-
), however it now gives a different ID for that game.
By the way, I tried to fix the formatter URL, but to no avail. It only works if you change it from https://www.gameblog.fr/jeux/$1_-
to https://www.gameblog.fr/jeu-video/jeux/$1
. @Jean-Frédéric: What do you think? Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 14:33, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for noticing and the ping. Looks like they completely changed their ID system :-/ Jean-Fred (talk) 18:13, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, so:
- at least one game (the one you found Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (Q108482649)) kept its ID, but the old formatter URL does not resolve.
- most games have a new ID, but the old formatter URL resolves as a redirect to the new ID.
- So, great − we can’t just update the formatter URL (as it will break most links) ; and we can’t just leave the old one and use the redirect (as at least one game, but presumably more, will then not resolve).
- I see they have a Discord, will try asking there.

- At this point, I wonder whether we should make a new property. Jean-Fred (talk) 20:26, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Jean-Frédéric: Sorry for such a late reply. Since the situation hasn't changed much, yes, I think a new property is unfortunately the only way out, and this property should be marked as "former scheme" as we did in the MobyGames case. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 03:34, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
