Time periods?

edit

Can this property also be used for time periods? For example, 5776 AM (Q2817685) partially coincident with (P1382) 2016 (Q25245). --Yair rand (talk) 22:39, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Yair rand: I think so. I don't know what you plan to use this special relationship for, start time (P580)/end time (P582) would allow more precision of course if the connection to 2016 (Q25245) isn't needed. (Thorough design seems to be a good idea in this case potentially affecting a couple of thousand items …) --Marsupium (talk) 16:43, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Bizarre label

edit

Why is the property called "coincident with". The dictionary definition of "coincident is"

occupying the same place or position.

. That suggests an exact match. We should have something that makes it clear that it is partially coincident. --Zolo (talk) 08:02, 4 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I added "partially" to the label to clarify that only part of the item is coincident with only part of the other item. - Evad37 [talk] 03:43, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
