This paper by Philippe was a main source of inspiration for the library: https://bigwww.epfl.ch/publications/thevenaz0002.pdf. We could also use it to design nice examples showcasing for instance the SNR results on some images (Fig. 14). There are a bunch of other spline bases that could be implemented (though the most important ones are probably included).
