Hi, my name is Andy Grunwald π.
I am a passionate software engineer and a long-term open source contributor.
My focus is on engineering culture and scalable backend systems.
I believe that technology can be complex, but people, teamwork, and getting something shipped together in a good and sustainable way is the real challenge.
I value aspects like explicit communication, making things simple and obvious, or automating a process.
And sometimes a question like "Do we really need this?" is solving the problem.

βοΈ Supporting my work
My work covers a wide variety of projects like
- Client libraries for Atlassian Jira, the Code Review Tool Gerrit, the status page and incident system Cachet
- Hardware Game Show Buzzers to play Jeopardy! or organize a Fitness Competition
- Helping students write consistent bachelor and master theses through a LaTeX-Template
- Organizing local meetups to share knowledge and educate others at Web Engineering DΓΌsseldorf
- Writing about Engineering topics at andygrunwald.com
Doing all of the above takes time next to my day job.
If you like my work and what I am doing, consider supporting it.
Next to boosting my motivation, you contribute to a healthier ecosystem of public and free software and education.
