While working on a move towards the Laravel stack, In my day job, I am mainly focused on writing bespoke WordPress plugins and providing security, quality assurance and auditing services in the web hosting sector.
My open source contributions started with me providing localisation and translations for WordPress, Adium and more. I am still known for contributing patches to software that requires Icelandic support or has locale specific quirks that need to be fixed.
On the public-facing side, my work on the annual Icelandic Book Catalogue for the Association of Icelandic Book Publishers has been my most popular one in recent years. It is maintained as open source software under the FIBUT account here on Github, including the printing process.
This is what am currently focused on in terms of open source software:
- Contributions towards the WordPress community that don't depend on specific vendors or requires approval from the WP leadership
- Iceland specific Ruby gems (namely a Kennitala and Postal code parser)
My most popular repository on Github has to be an Icelandic contract template for software developers. I have received a lot of praise for that one and it has proven useful to a lot of people in the community.
My main focus at the moment is to make my wp-tests-strapon
test harness for WordPress into a stable and useful state. I would also like to get the support to make DockPress a well-known and trusted tool for scalable WordPress hosting.
