Etymology

edit

ha- (aging) + -∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -d- (classifier)-tih (conclusive imperfective stem of root -TIH, “to be old”).

Verb

edit

haatih

  1. he/she/it grows old, worn

Conjugation

edit

Paradigm: Conclusive (∅/si).

IMPERFECTIVE singular duoplural plural
1st person haashtih haiitih hadeiitih
2nd person hanitih haahtih hadaahtih
3rd person haatih hadaatih
4th person hajitih hadajitih
PERFECTIVE singular duoplural plural
1st person hasistih hasiitih hadasiitih
2nd person hasínítih hasoohtih hadasoohtih
3rd person haastih hadaastih
4th person hajistih hadajistih

Note: the Analytical Lexicon (YMM 1992) states it is Durative aspect, but this comes in contradiction with their grammatical appendix (pp. 868-869) where it is said that “the Durative [...] takes a ∅/yi conjugation pattern” while “essentially a Durative, the Conclusive differs from the Durative in that [...] it takes a ∅/si” conjugation pattern. YM 1987 calls it a continuative, which AL reserves to verbs prefixed with na- (atelic) taking ∅/si pattern. See hainitá for the same issue.
