From Proto-Albanian *plakska, from Proto-Indo-European *plek-. Cognate to Lithuanian plókščias (flat), Proto-Slavic *ploskъ (id), *ploxъ (flat, bad, evil, poor),[1] Old High German flasca (flask), English flask.
