dot point (plural dot points)

  1. (Australia) An item in a bulleted list.
    Synonym: bullet point
    • 2010, Mark Tredinnick, Geoff Whyte, The Little Black Book of Business Writing, page 159:
      Dot points work well when
each dot is a short phrase or clause (like this)
each one runs no longer than this (try to keep each point from run-
ning over a line, like this)
      []
But different rules apply when each dot point is a sentence or a paragraph—when, in other words, it stands on its own grammatically.
    • 2021, “Lists”, in Australian Government Style Manual[1], archived from the original on 21 September 2021:
The digital edition advises against using ‘and’ or ‘or’ at the end of dot points in lists. The sixth edition allowed ‘or’ at the end of a list item, though recommended avoiding this if possible.
