  1. (mechanical trades) A heavy-duty handle, typically long and with a nonratcheting head, that turns a socket to break loose nuts and bolts that are very tightly fastened.
  2. (mechanical trades) A bar inside a hammer mill against which the milled material is thrown by the hammers; the material breaks upon hitting it.
