Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (chiu "say, speak"). Luce gives Old Chinese (OC *hljods, *hljod, *lod, “idem”) as a cognate.[1] This could imply a derivation from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *b-tsyat (to say, speak).”
