English
Etymology
The furry jargon use of (deprecated template usage) todd derives from the name (deprecated template usage) Todd with a consciousness that it derived from a Middle English word for "fox". The furry community coined this particular use of the word as a specifically masculine contrast to gender-independent (deprecated template usage) fox and specifically feminine (deprecated template usage) vixen, especially since the more usually term for male fox, (deprecated template usage) dog, would be ambiguous in the furry community.
