How to use

Choose some editors in your subject area and contact them in a nice and persuasive way to increase your chances. Taking a moment to thank them for their help is usually appreciated. Asking for a review at an associated Wikiproject, some which are listed below, can also be useful. General copy editors are listed at the bottom.

How to add yourself to the list

Feel free to add yourself to the list! Place yourself in the category or categories you'd like to do peer reviews for. Volunteers can add the userbox {{Peer review volunteer}} to their user page.

In the future, there might be the ability to receive automatic messages on your talk page about pending reviews. To do this, add "(contact monthly)" to your entry.

This list is intended to be helpful for editors seeking volunteers to review. For this reason, a bot regularly removes inactive editors off the list (please don't be offended if your name is taken off!). When you become active again, feel free to add your name to the list again.

Lastly, please don't change the categories, which reflect the general categories used in peer review.

  • Carcharoth (talk · contribs) - Available for minor copyediting improvements, but not guaranteed to spot everything.
  • HJ Mitchell (talk · contribs) - General copyediting, particularly for prose and MoS compliance. I prefer biographies, but I'll take on just about anything.
  • Iztwoz (talk · contribs) - General copyeding. Preferences are for life sciences and philosophy but can be interested in most things bar pop culture.
  • Jojalozzo (talk · contribs) - American English. Always looking for the shortest path between two points. Technical topics welcome.

  • Learnerktm (talk · contribs) - Learning about copyediting, grammar and all. :)

  • Nikkimaria (talk · contribs) - General, but I know Canadian English and I can only sort of speak American.
  • Scribolt (talk · contribs) - Available for general copy editing on almost any subject, and re-structuring of content. I'm much more concerned with flow & clarity than grammatical minutiae. Disclaimer: I do not pretend to be an expert on FA/GA standards, but if you want a outside view on what your prose looks like I'm happy to help.
  • Ukexpat (talk · contribs) - British English grammar, syntax, punctuation and spelling. One time classical scholar so a stickler for that kind of thing.
  • Wingedserif (talk · contribs) - Copyediting in US or British English

Reviews before featured article nomination

All types of article can be peer reviewed. Sometimes, a nominator wants a peer review before making a featured article nomination. These reviews often wait longer than others, because the type of review they need is more detailed and specialised than normal. There are some things you should know before doing this:

  • Have a look at advice provided at featured articles, and contact some active reviewers there to contribute to your review
  • Please add your article to the sidebar Template:FAC peer review sidebar, and remove when you think you have received enough feedback

Updates

edit

In the future, you will be able to add your name to a list that will automatically contact you for reviews in your topic area every month. To do this, add "(contact monthly)" after your entry on the list.
