Khalid Jawed (born 9 March 1960) is an Indian Novelist and one of the leading Urdu Fiction Writers. Some of his works include Aakhri Dawat, Nematkhana[1] and Maut ki Kitab,[2][3] critically acclaimed for his unique style and narrative. Currently he is serving as Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. [4] Dr. Khalid Jawed is also considered an expert of popular literature and specially an expert of Ibne Safi.[5][6] He is equally popular in India and Pakistan for his unique style of fiction writing.[7] Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad has awarded M.Phil degrees in Urdu on his novel 'Maut ki Kitab' and 'Aakhri dawat', and Central University, Hyderabad has awarded M.Phil in Urdu on his short stories' collection 'Burey Mausam mein'.

Literary work
Khalid Jawed is an Urdu Fiction Writer from India and he is equally popular in India and Pakistan. Some of his writings like 'Maut Ki Kitab' and 'Nematkhana' have gained critical acclamation. Literary Critic Shafe Qidwai in his article in The Hindu says "Khalid Jawed does not bury the plot behind the heavy pall of magic realism technique and his style is imbued with a new artistic coherence and he weaves a series of memories and wistful experiences into a viable pattern. It is hoped that the Maut ki Kitab will be noticed in literary circles.”[8]
Nominations
English translation 'The Paradise of Food' of Khalid Jawed's novel 'Nemat Khana' has also been included in the long list of JCB Prize for Literature 2022.[9]
