Let's keep it as an essay this time

edit

Back in 2008 when this proposal was rejected for a first time, I decided that the best use of this page title was an informative essay on Wikipedia best practices on sexual content. Now that a second proposal was made and rejected, I decided to once more turn it back into an essay. I think this is the best choice — rather than dictate new, redundant, or contradictory rules on sexual content, we can use this essay to document existing practices and philosophies in a central place. It achieves the goal of a sexual content policy: describing (rather than prescribing) best practice without the fuss of deciding if there is consensus for a policy. Thus, we should lay off the sexual content policy proposals unless a new argument can be made for one. (To that end, I have included a section in the essay on why recommendations for a policy have been rejected.) hare j 07:43, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
