About Me

I am from a group of Sikh history scholars dedicated to accuracy in portraying Sikhism and Sikh History. I have no allegiance to any Jatha, Sants or any other sects within Sikhism; I am allied only to Orthodox Sikhism.

I believe in publishing the truth, no matter how unpalatable that may be for some sects within Sikhism. I have always found it amusing how people who do not understand the "cryptic" and metaphorical language of Vaaran Bhai Gurdas use it to justify whatever they want as here?

The proud elephant is inedible and none eats the mighty lion.
Line 1
Goat is humble and hence it is respected everywhere.
Line 2
On occasions of death, joy, marriage, yajna, etc only its meat is accepted.
Line 3
Among the householders its meat is acknowledged as sacred and with its gut stringed instruments are made.
Drums are mounted by its skin and then in the holy congregation the delight-giving kirtan, eulogy of the Lord, is sung.
Line 6
saadhasangati satigur saranaaee ॥13॥
In fact, going to the holy congregation is the same as going to the shelter of the true Guru.
