Greetings, I'm RyRy, a Wikipedian of the English Wikipedia. I'm always glad to help other editors, so don't hesitate to ask on my talk page if you need my assistance. I'm contributer to Wikipedia because I believe we can make positive changes to the world, spreading the gift of free knowledge to our readers. I believe we can improve the quality of Wikipedia and encourage more and more people to help in our collaborative attempt to help spread the knowledge to others working together as a community here at Wikipedia, the freeencyclopedia that anyone can edit.
Generally, I'm active and online a few times a day on Wikipedia, unless I'm on a wikibreak. I'm an overall nice person, but if I do become uncivil or if I lose my cool, I'm always available to be slapped with a trout or whenever appropriate.
I have a few main areas here on Wikipedia. I write mostly baseball-related topics since I do enjoy the history of baseball and baseball players very much. I contribute and am a member for WikiProject Baseball. In particular, I contribute to the Boston Red Sox WikiProject since I'm a Boston Red Sox fan. Click here to view all the articles I have created. One of my main areas are WP:DYK. In that area, I review suggested hooks and move verified suggested hooks to the preparation area so they can appear on the Main page. Most of the articles I've created or expanded are DYKs and have appeared in the "Did you know..." section on the Main page. You can visit this link to view my DYK hooks. I sometimes new page patrol, mostly tagging WP:CSDs, or simply just improving those new articles, ect. I revertvandalism quite a lot at times and report vandals or spammers that need to be blocked at WP:AIV, and try to make the appropriate actions there. Not only do I report vandals and spammers to AIV, I also clerk (commenting and removing insufficiently reported users) at AIV. I have account creators right and I sometimes create account requests. I'm also a rollbacker, so I can easily and quickly revert vandalism using the rollback tool. I vote at WP:AFD on occasions and I usually make non-administrative closures to close debates myself. I do a lot of copyediting and wikifying on pretty much any article as well. I sometimes volunteer at the help desk and on rare occasions, the {{helpme}} page. On occasions, I comment at WP:AN and WP:ANI whenever possible.
So anyway, if you need my assistance or if you would just like to talk to me (I hope it's not something myspacey...), the best place to do that would be contacting me on my talk page or by e-mailing me.
I take great pleasure in helping other users in need of help, and I enjoy designing other Wiki pages. So if you want me to lend you a hand with your own user page, just give me a call and I'll see what I can do. Results not guaranteed! It will typically take me a few days to fulfill your request, but it should look good by then. Just be sure that there is a decent amount of text on your page and also be sure that you explain what you want your page to be like in details. Just ask on my talk page to redesign your user page or any different page.

No vandalism since final warning. Re-report if this user resumes vandalising. Maybe they got the hint. Daniel Case (talk) 09:46, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
Declined. As twerpy as they come across during that long discussion with you, they have since seemed to be editing in some degree of good faith. Daniel Case (talk) 09:51, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

You can get in touch with me through a number of different methods. My talk page is available to take messages, but please feel free to use e-mail for sensitive issues.
Alternatively, you can find me on IRC under the nickname RyanCross or RyRy in most major Wikipedia channels; feel free to drop a /msg.
I'm probably one of the nicest editors there is around, and I do like to help people, but please don't harass or provoke me. I won't retalliate, I'll merely revert. That being said, feel free to ask me any questions you have, just be civil, and don't personally attack other editors.

Santa Cruz entering the field before a game in Belém
The Suicidal Tour took place when Brazilian professional football club Santa Cruz Futebol Clube toured the North Region of Brazil from 2 January to 29 April 1943. Over almost four months, they played either 26 or 28 friendly matches in six cities. The tour gained its name due to the misfortunes endured by the club. Looking to recover from a financial crisis, Santa Cruz arranged five matches in Belém, Pará. Traveling up the Amazon River for another round of matches, they first started experiencing problems in Manaus, where two players left to play for other clubs and seven members of the team's delegation caught dysentery. Two players went on to contract typhoid fever and died. Unable to return home through the sea, and needing to cover growing costs, Santa Cruz had to return to Recife by land, playing matches along the way to earn money. The return had further problems, including a fake arrest warrant for a player, a trip alongside thieves, and two train derailments. (Full article...)
