- Earth Science: I have a PhD in Geophysics (which is why I mostly edit tectonics and structural geology pages)
- Marine Science: I have sailed off Japan, Indonesia, Antarctica, Chile, Alaska, Cascadia, Central America, Louisiana, and Hawaii.
- Miscellaneous World Heritage Sites
- Science Fiction/Fantasy: I read a lot and retain a lot of useless facts from somewhat obscure series. I also read author commentaries and biographies.
- History: Eclectic interest that includes ancient natural disasters, Greek and Roman accomplishments/mistakes, the early Christian church, renaissance scientists, the industrial revolution, imperialism, colonial independence, World War II, and how people have interacted with the natural world throughout time.
