Talk:The Winds of War

I suggest moving info about the miniseries to a new, separate article. --Danielos2 23:18, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree here also, can you do it. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page) 14:18, 21 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is miniseries spelled miniseries or mini-series?

See https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/miniseries: all one word and no hyphen. Toddcs (talk) 00:27, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

I heard that the naked extras who were used for the Jews being gassed scene were actually nudists. Can anyone find a reference proving this? I looked and was unsuccessful.

The novel and the miniseries need to be split, no doubt about it. The adaptation is fairly close, but there are significant differences (the characters of Warren and Madeline are practically non-existent in the adaptation, for one). Every other movie adaptation (rightfully) gets its own page.Count de Des Moines (talk) 05:27, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:HermanWouk TheWindsOfWar.jpg

edit

Image:HermanWouk TheWindsOfWar.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:53, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is it really necessary to have two separate "See also" entries to Wouk's War and Remembrance, one to the book and the other to the miniseries? The former should suffice. A reader who follows that link to the article about the book will be naturally directed from there to the miniseries as well. Toddcs (talk) 00:21, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
