Military aviation
editI have just deleted the line refering to military aviation running 2 helicopters. They no longer have an active aviation arm, nor do they have any aircraft.--202.151.27.201 02:06, 16 July 2006 (UTC)daniel
Disbanded Special Forces
editI changed the part about the "Zulu" company of Special Forces as it is my understanding they were disbanded in November of 2005 after an uprising of sorts by some of its' members Bob the Joker
Reserve Numbers
editDoes anyone know the number of reservists? I've seen numbers from 350 to 6000. Goldfishsoldier 00:05, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
It's my understanding the Fiji military does not maintain a "Reserve" branch as the US does. However, the 3rd Battalion, which in peace time is in operational command of the 4, 5, 7 and 8th Battalions, is stationed within Fiji itself and maintains a lower level of alert and used for policing more than military activites as opposed to the 1st and 2nd Battalions. But as far as a reserve branch I do not believe one to be in exsistence. Bob the Joker 01:21, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
History
editI haven't got time to add it now, but this article could do with a section on the RFMF's history (not just the controversies). The RFMF's website has a page on the history of its overseas deployment. Aridd (talk) 00:55, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Crown
editDoes anyone know what the deal is with the crown in Fijian military insignia? I know Queen Elizabeth's role is still sort of up in the air, but Fiji has officially been a republic for about twenty years now. I saw in pictures, though, in the news, that Voreqe Bainimarama's beret has a crown on it, and there's certainly one in the military's logo. Anyone know what the deal is here?203.210.149.242 (talk) 08:11, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
