Discussion of the anime

edit

The anime series is pretty popular too, it ran in 2002 and has 49 episodes. Check out AnimeNFO for more details. Anyway, I think this article should talk about the anime too, it's just that I haven't seen the anime, so I don't feel qualified to comment on it. --Cyde 05:26, 21 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Removed section that I believed to be POV

edit

I believe that the section I removed about shōjo and yaoi etc was POV and speculation. There were no references to this in this article or in any of the articles mentioned to also have homosexual undertones.

Removed more

edit

Personally, I felt then -entire- "Yaoi Controversy" article is 100% pure speculation, and isn't controversial at all, in the sense that there is no firm ground for such claims other than =fanservice=, and as I edited, this is seen in numerous anime and manga, even in the history of Japan, where men almost showed the equivelant of "homosexuality" in battle and reverance.

Character Titles

edit

Please connect character titles with the character themselves; people might find it hard to find a specific Kurodou Akabane if they didn't add the 'u' in the end, or if they searched for the name "Dr. Jackal". -Izaak

Work needed for B-class grading

edit

Hi! Can the assessers state here what EXACTLY would be needed to improve the article? Sometimes, information is present, but we are not familiar with Wikipedia standards to put it in the right places... Yezhanquan

I just took a quick glance at the article when I assessed it as Start but looking at it now it's border-line B-class rated. Here are some of the things that may be holding it back:
  • Spelling and grammar of article
  • Organizational issues
    • With the characters section, there are two subsections that may be perceived as redundant. If you think it should be integrated than it should probably be integrated into the main section (since there is a page for the characters)
    • The Manga section probably belongs into the lead in, as it is now there isn't anything in there. If you want to keep this section, place a {{sect-stub}}.
    • The Story Arcs section looks like it belongs in the Story section
  • Lack of pictures - there wasn't a single picture to reference this series...
There may be some other things that I missed, but just doing some of the above should push it to a B-class. Hope this helps! --Miss Ethereal 14:19, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I added a {{Todo}} template for this article to manage what needs to be done better. --Miss Ethereal 15:25, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I agree with Miss Ethereal, maybe just one picture is enough to make the article a B Class. Something needs to be done about those two separate sets of characters but that isn't that important for this article. All the pages needed to be put into a category, so I went ahead and did that. --Squilibob 04:16, 11 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Manga covers?

edit

Just asking: what sort of copyrights do the art for manga covers have? -Yezhanquan

Manga covers qualify as Fair Use policy, so when you upload the image(s), make sure to note the fair use policy. --Miss Ethereal 21:24, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anime episode guide

edit

I want to add an episode guide, or at least an episode list, for the anime. Where would be the best place in the current article to put an episode guide/list? (I've only just started contributing to wikipedia and so far I've only made some minor, and some not so minor, edits.) Jojas 18:01, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've added a simple episode section between the Character & Groups and Other Media section although I'm not sure this is the best place. I am trying to work out how I managed to mark it as a minor edit. Jojas 21:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I replaced my original episode list with a table which includes anime story arcs and how the anime relates to manga. Some of the one shot episodes may be based on interludes after Act 8 if there are any. This is information I can add at present. Jojas 11:05, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

GetBackers Navigation Template

edit

I have created and added a base GetBackers navigation template as I think there is now sufficant material on the subject for one to be needed. Jojas 04:10, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Trivia cleanup

edit

Can anyone give me a good reason why we need so many trivia bullets on how Japanese voice actors X, Y, and Z also each played roles in some other series like Gundam SEED or whatever? It's not really an unusual occurrence, especially with the Japanese voice acting world having a number of "celebrities". If they belong anywhere at all, they should be on individual voice actors' articles instead of needlessly taking up space here. Tony Myers 11:52, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. Don Rampage 04:19, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I concur and have just been bold and pruned the trivia section (and removed the "too much trivia" notice at the same time) using the criteron that voice actors from one series merely appearing in the another series as other voice actors from the same series is not, by itself, of encylopedic significance even as trivia. Voice actors' other roles can be found on the relevant articles about them Jojas 17:03, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Infinity Fortress

edit

I have reverted some recent changes all which involve the name of the building complex where Ginji used to live and which in the original Japanese is known as "Mugenjou". I dislike reverting edits and think is fair to explain why I do this.

"Infinity Fortress" (note it is not "Infinite") is the English translation used by Tokyopop in manga.
"Limitless Fortress" is the translation used in the anime by ADV.

As the manga was the original media then, if I understand the guidelines correctly, it is the manga translation,"Infinity Fortress" should be generally used. The exception to this being when the context specifically refers to the anime. In the case of the anime episode titles, which I copied out directly from DVDs, "Limitless" is correct fact.

Story Arc Information

edit

The wiki-link to the article on story arcs for this series redirects back to this page. Apparently that article has been merged with this main article. So, where is the section on the Story arcs? (This merging of articles looks more like an undiscussed, stealth deletion.) Jojas (talk) 20:34, 22 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is no section. The article was nothing but a giant plot regurgitation that fails WP:FICT and WP:PLOT, and WP:OR. It has no place on Wikipedia and thus was redirected back here. This article already has a plot section and there is an episode list, making story arcs redundant as well. It could not be clearly split into summaries for use the episode list, so nothing to merge. Writers name

edit

I recently made an edit that was undone by another user and I'm confused as to why. The writer of the story's real name is Shin Kibayashi and he wrote Getbackers under the name Yuya Aoki. The name currently listed on the article is Tadashi Agi (which does link to the wiki page for Shin Kibayashi) but that is a name he only uses when he writes with his sister so I'm not sure why that name is used on this article. Shouldn't the writer at least be listed as Shin Kibayashi or Yuya Aoki instead?98.92.201.35 (talk) 07:42, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
