Baltic states
editI'm pretty convinced that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were not a part of CIS, and that no player from these states entered the squad. Thus, I presume these countries did not participate in the CIS football association. And maybe I am wrong...—Vitriden 23:20, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- You are right about that. In fact, their respective national teams were formed even before the CIS team was formed. --Palffy 04:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Most caps
editThe rsssf records that Dmitri Kharine won nine caps for the CIS, not 11. I won't edit it because I'm not sure if this then makes someone else the record holder. SteveO 23:28, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- See there's a slight disparity here. According to [1], CIS played 2 FIFA-sanctioned friendlies against Mexico on the 8th and 11th of March 1992. However, the matches were not registered with the Russian Football Federation, for reasons unknown to me. I'm curious as to what you think of this.. --Palffy 04:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well surely FIFA-sanctioned friendlies would go on the official record, although it's strange that they would play the same team twice in four days. Perhaps a footnote could be added outlining these "orphaned" matches. SteveO 14:44, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Did that, adjust it as you see fit..They are certainly official friendlies, even EloRatings confirms that. I would probably submit a change to RSSSF with regards to the Kharine page. --Palffy 15:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Russia national team is not successor ot the CIS team
editIn this page information do not correspond to reality and are not confirmed by any reference to the official position: “With the end of Euro 1992, the Russia national team was recognized as the only successor of the CIS team”. No one has ever made such an official decision. This is just speculation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ЛексВМ (talk • contribs) 18:54, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
