Ai as a word for love
editConcerning this piece of information: "Kago's given name, "Ai", is one of the Japanese words for love". While Ai is one of the words used for love, it's written wrongly in Kago Ai. Instead of the 亜依 from Kago Ai the Ai meaning love is written with 愛 (used in e.g. Takahashi Ai). —Previous comment posted unsigned by Janihan at 14:50 on 9 January 2006
- I think how it was spelled was her parents' choice - Ai stated that her name still meant love on a fan club single a few years ago. --CJ Marsicano 21:51, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- I've made a small change to the name para to make it more accurate without being pedantic. (prev signing disappeared) Brettr 07:11, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
speculation on money loss
editThe paragraph speculating on losses because of Kago's abscence doesn't serve any use. We have no idea what is happening and Tsunku is certainly not going broke. Brettr 09:36, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- It looks like 2006 has actually been a bad year for Hello!Project, but W's sales before the suspension were declining with all the other H!P groups, and accounted for a very small portion of their overall sales. 27k sales of W's last album barely puts food on the table, as much as I love them. Morning Musume reached its sales peak in 2000, and declined rapidly after 2002. Konno left this year to go back to school so she could pursue a better paying career of all things. 68.186.109.59 03:41, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- that's a lot better but probably more detail than is really needed especially compared to the Japanese version Kago Aii (Japanese). Note that it is locked. I'll have another look at it later. Brettr 06:23, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- I thought posting some numbers might help break-up the revert/repost battle, even though it'll probably be removed in a short while. 68.186.109.59 09:19, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- No, the figures make the difference between speculation by a fan to being hard fact. Brettr 08:54, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

News of semi-return
editThere's a brief report on Hello!Online that according to a Friday interview Kago has moved back to Tokyo and has been serving tea and answering phones at the agency. She's lost a lot of weight (photos included) and still wants to sing. It's too early to confirm (as in I don't speak Japanese) so I'm posting this to the talk page. 68.186.109.59 10:35, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Second source, with slightly more info, though too related to the first source to say it's confirmed yet. 68.186.109.59 11:10, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
By now I'm pretty sure it's credible. Kago's back, to some extent. 68.186.109.59 18:49, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Anonymous edit on Kago's religious beliefs might need confirmation
editSome people noticed that Ai Kago was anonymously added to the list of notable followers on the Tenrikyo page a couple months ago. I couldn't find any English sources to confirm or deny this, but maybe someone who knows Japanese could check it out. --dtfinch 10:44, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- I looked at the Japanese wiki, there is no mention of it on her page or the Tenrikyo page. I suggest deleting it. Brettr 12:32, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- I removed it with a link to this page in its summary. --Charles Nguyen 05:48, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Friday'd - Here we go again
editPossible dating scandal? :-( -dtfinch 06:56, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
UFA has confirmed it in this letter, and now Kago has been fired.
Triva section
editThere is too much in the trivia section. I think it needs to be pared down to the essentials/the actual trivia information. ("she scored second lowest on the Bakajo test" and similar facts can be found in other sections, speculations about her piano playing ability shouldn't be there because they can't be confirmed, and lines like "her signature hairstyle was high pigtails" definitely should go because they simply aren't true.) I edited it myself, a few times, but each time someone undid it. Not entirely sure why? Because seriously...that trivia section is a mess. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.239.76.130 (talk) 23:53, 10 May 2007 (UTC).
- Speaking as the head of Wikipedia:WikiProject Hello! Project, I removed the "too much trivia" and "expert" banners because for one thing, they look fucking sloppy, and for another thing, the trivia bits in question are OK for the article yet there's no logical place they could go into the main biographical text. CJ Marsicano 20:51, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use
editBefore restoring a fair-use image to this page, I highly suggest reading WP:FAIR to make sure that it meets the criteria. The image of W is fine for the page on W because a provision exists for bands/groups which are no longer together. Thus, getting a picture of the group is now impossible. However, getting a picture of Ai Kago is not impossible, and she is no different from most other living people in that regard. Difficult? Yes. But, WP:FAIR does not care so much about degrees of difficulty; only about what is legally permissible. To include the same picture on multiple articles, multiple fair-use rationale is necessary (per #10 on WP:FAIR). The current rationale applies only to the band, and not the individual members. - I don't care anymore, it's fuckwits like you that destroy the work of editors without any consideration of whether something is fair use or not Brettr 08:48, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
No mention of her extremely provocative photo book?
editSeems pretty relevant to me! http://www.google.com/search?q=Kago+Ai+Super+Cargo BillyTFried (talk) 21:49, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Personal information
editRemoved a number of personal issues that had no references. That she was born out of wedlock appeared without any reference. The smoking issue needs better references. Karst (talk) 09:55, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
