Biography

Ian Truitner studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology,[4] University of Minnesota and Penn State University. He was awarded Alumni of Notable Achievement by the University of Minnesota in 2017.[5] Truitner is a U.S. Army veteran, serving during Operation Desert Storm.[6]

As a filmmaker Truitner's work includes Teleios,[7][8] W.M.D.,[9][10] and Cutting Room.[11][12] Truitner has won over a dozen international film awards for his works as a director and producer [13]

Truitner has written two patents; an AI machine learning visual learning system[14] and an interactive streaming video platform[15] for RANDIAN, a company funded by Amanda Crew,[3] Marc Ferrari, New York-based R&R Ventures, William Marsh Rice University and Quake Capital.[16] He presented RANDIAN technology to Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge at the Variety Venture Capital and New Media Summit.[17][18]

During the 2020 pandemic Truitner directed a campaign to raise funds for the American Nurses Association's philanthropic arm the American Nurses Foundation.[19] The spot featuring Rita Wilson, Constance Wu, Noah Wyle, Kate Flannery, Joan Lunden, Angélica María, Parminder Nagra, Jen Lilley and Simon Helberg was created to raise funds for nurses treating COVID-19 patients.[20]
