Point X camp revert help
Hello, I saw that you reverted my edit creating a disambiguation page for Point X (thank you for that). As this was my first attempt trying to solve a disambiguation situation, I wasn't sure what the best solution would be. Can you please help me understand what the preferred solution for this was and why? I looked through a lot of WP:DAB prior to the edit but clearly it's taking me a while to wrap my head around. Should I have considered the original redirect to be the primary topic? Any insight you could provide would be appreciated to help me improve my future editing. Thank you. JJbloon (talk) 15:15, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- My apologies, I only just managed to notice the actual edit summary with WP:WTAF. I only read the tags and saw reverted, and thus came here to ask for help. Thanks again and have a good one. JJbloon (talk) 15:25, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
Short pages
Hi JalenBarks, just saw your addition of Short pages monitor to Scribbled rabbitfish. Would there be a way to make {{Animal common name}} or {{Plant common name}} to mark the pages as automatically not appearing on the Short page list? I note Bog orchid for example is there now. Best, CMD (talk) 03:03, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi CMD. The reason Bog orchid is still on Short Pages is because adding long comment to the page would put it over 550 bytes, putting it on Category:Long monitored short pages. The code for the script I'm using does not allow me to insert it automatically, and even if I inserted it manually, Bot1058 is coded to remove the long comment after. See details on this task's approval process at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Bot1058 5. Inserting the code into the set index footer templates, however, would be more complicated given you can't direct substitute those templates unlike long comment. - Helpful read, thanks. I see there is some old discussion on the matter at Wikipedia talk:Special:ShortPages. Anyway, I'll try to remember it if I ever create another short page that isn't a disambiguation page. Thanks, CMD (talk) 03:37, 10 September 2024 (UTC)

Glady (surname) page dispute
I am responding to your message. I don’t understand the fundamental dispute regarding the Glady surname page. I made it 6 years ago, now suddenly there’s an issue because someone wanted to make a page about someone named Angel Glady. The surname page was essentially hijacked and redirected to Angel Glady even though the original article about this individual should be its own page completely independent of the Glady surname page. The surname page is about the surname. The Angel Glady page is about the person. How is this hard to understand? Angel Glady has a separate independent page that is featured on the Glady disambiguation page. For some reason, the editors of the page insist on also hijacking the surname page as if a page about the Glady surname is somehow invalid. There are many many many surname pages, yet this page is somehow a problem? Why should Angel Glady have a page, yet also get to hijack and redirect the Glady surname page? It makes no sense. Daccho (talk) 04:23, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Daccho. I was just following along with what other reverting editors (see page history) have said, as well as applying my understanding of how WP:NNAME, the notability criteria for surnames, works. It is very common when a surname by itself is not notable enough for a standalone article to be redirected to a more notable subject with that surname, which is why we have the template {{R from surname}}.
- From my understanding of what other reverting editors have said, the sources on your version provide no evidence of the anglicization. You would need to find those sources if you still insist on the article's inclusion. I would try to discuss with the other reverting editors as well for further clarity on the matter. Additionally, I also don't see why you insist on excluding Angel Glady from your version of the article.
- Also, if that really was your IP, keep in mind that editing while logged out in the same subject area as your user account can be seen as highly scrutinous. Consider only editing as yourself, the user who sent me this message, in the subject of Anthroponymy from now on. Jalen Barks (Woof) 04:49, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
Inappropriate warning and CSD tags
The 4IM warning you left at User_talk:90.241.189.212 was inappropriate, as the IP's edits to Draft:Horrid Henry's Hobby (and related drafts) are VERY clearly not vandalism. They appear to be edits to create articles for episodes about the show Horrid Henry (TV series). I've also declined 7 pages which you tagged as WP:CSD G2 (test pages), which appeared to be the beginning of articles and definitely not test pages. Please review WP:CSD G2 and be careful when adding CSD tags in the future. Episode drafts you do not like should not be edit warred over and they should not be marked as test pages unless they very clearly are. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:59, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
