Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Lagi (Bini song) (currently a redirect to Lagi (song)) → Lagi (song) (move · discuss) – This is the only article about a song titled "Lagi". Since there are no other songs or articles with the same title, including the artist’s name is unnecessary. Requested by User:Indo360. Quetzal1964 (talk) 16:06, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Anematichthys (currently a redirect to Cyclocheilichthys repasson) → Cyclocheilichthys repasson (move · discuss) – In October this year WP:Fishes agreed to change the taxonomy it followed for taxa below the level of Order to Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes (ECoF). ECoF classifies this specues in the genus Cyclocheilichthys. See https://researcharchive.calacademy.org/research/ichthyology/catalog/fishcatmain.asp Quetzal1964 (talk) 16:06, 13 December 2024 (UTC)

- Haldia Port → Haldia Dock Complex (currently a redirect back to Haldia Port) (move · discuss) – Original as well as WP:COMMONNAME. See Haldia Port vs Haldia Dock Complex. 2409:4073:38E:6A2F:A0E1:DF73:C68:2F5F (talk) 17:30, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem like "Haldia Dock Complex" is a slamdunk as the common name according to ngrams.[1] — Amakuru (talk) 17:51, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comparable when case sensitivity is turned off [2]. People use simple terms when searching. Nothing surprising. Within books, the commonly used term is HDC. WP:COMMONNAME is determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable, English-language sources. "Haldia port" results in Google News also favours "HDC". Referring to it as "Port" (not a noun) is also technically incorrect, as both HDC and Kolkata Dock System are two "docks" of Kolkata Port. The content of the article also requires cleanup as it is not an independent port, or a port at all. --2409:4073:38E:6A2F:E8E3:E474:8D53:4275 (talk) 20:02, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

- Latte → Caffè latte (currently a redirect back to Latte) (move) – JacktheBrown (talk) 18:27, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Even with no rationale given, it is clear that "Latte" is the common name. ToadetteEdit (talk) 19:23, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Creature (song) (currently a redirect to Creature) → Creature (KSI song) (currently a redirect instead to KSI discography) (move · discuss) – Last week, I made the article for a Jelly Roll song of the same name and already made a request to move the KSI song to this page. MC-123 (talk) 20:26, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- @MC-123 I'm going to contest this because Creature (song) has been nominated for deletion, and moving during an open AfD is extremely inconvenient for the AfD process. Feel free to come back here when the AfD is closed. Toadspike [Talk] 20:49, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Toadspike, thank you for letting me know. I will come back once the AfD is closed. MC-123 (talk) 21:29, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

- Concorde Bridge (Montreal) (currently a redirect to Pont de la Concorde (Montreal)) → Concorde Bridge (currently a redirect instead to Pont de la Concorde) (move · discuss) – Unnecessary disambiguation. (Note that this article's title was changed from French to English after 16.5 years due to a seemingly-unfounded accusation of vandalism.) J947 ‡ edits 02:48, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- I've left a message on the previous mover's Talk page. I'd like to figure out that weird edit summary accusation before performing this move. Toadspike [Talk] 10:18, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- I've reverted the recent page move, back to Pont de la Concorde (Montreal)... as far as I can tell from sources such as [3][4][5] it is reasonably common to use the French title in English works. At the very least this merits a discussion. Also, as an aside, I wouldn't support the move suggested here anyway. "Concorde Bridge" can just as easily refer to the bridge in Paris as the one in Montreal, even in English. — Amakuru (talk) 10:51, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Howver, Paris is French, but Montreal is bilingual English and French, so the affinity falls towards Montreal and not Paris. And Montreal English exists, even if the Provincial Government of Quebec has outlawed its use in official contexts, such as the bridge name. -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 04:45, 12 December 2024 (UTC)

- Daagh (serial) → Daagh (TV series) (move · discuss) – Name correction 2409:40C0:2D:44BB:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 05:51, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Per WP:NCTV, "
For the special case of episodic television known as "miniseries", when disambiguation is required, use: (miniseries) or (serial) according to common usage in reliable sources.
" The sources in the article say "serial", so this move would need some contrary evidence. SilverLocust 💬 06:06, 12 December 2024 (UTC)

- Fly (Impact Comics) → The Fly (Impact Comics) (currently a redirect back to Fly (Impact Comics)) (move · discuss) – WP:THE Mvcg66b3r (talk) 19:24, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Mvcg66b3r Contesting on 2pou's point, the article is clearly about the character and not the publication. If this changes, feel free to make a new request. Toadspike [Talk] 10:18, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ask.fm → ASKfm (currently a redirect back to Ask.fm) (move · discuss) – name as used between 14 January 2016 and 1 December 2024 (before closure) 83.28.247.254 (talk) 15:14, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- This reverts a 2018 RM. A new RM will be required. Bensci54 (talk) 17:12, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
