Get in

[edit]

Avesta is about 2 hours from Stockholm and Arlanda Airport (ARN IATA). The easiest way to get into Avesta is either by car or train.

By train

[edit]

Although Avesta municipality has three train stations, only one is frequently used. The most popular station is Avesta Krylbo, where the train to and from Stockholm stops. All train stations are served by the main train company SJ for connections to Stockholm. The local/regional connections are served by Tåg i Bergslagen/Tågkompaniet. Railway tickets can be bought at the SJ website or Tågkompaniet (only in Swedish) . All tickets are available on both sites.

Avesta Krylbo is 15 minutes' walk from the city center. But you don't need to walk, since all the buses within Avesta municipality are free to use.
