INDIA

Hi, welcome to the userpage of Gurubrahma - am young on wikipedia; registered on 30 April, 2005 but became hyperactive from August. I've become an admin effective 7 December, 2005. For the past 7 years, I've been a resident of Bangalore. While I've been contributing to all articles, my focus has been on India-related articles since that is the place I'm from. Please don't mind if I don't answer your messages - I can assure you that I wd have already acted on it or probably not yet seen it.

About my User name

[edit]

A widely quoted Sanskrit sloka goes thus:

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwara
Guru Sakshath Parambrahma Tasmai Shri Gurave Namaha

meaning

The teacher is creator Brahma; he is preserver Vishnu; he is also the destroyer Siva and he is the source of the Absolute. I offer all my efforts to that great teacher.

My idea of emphasising on the Gurubrahma part is that I am primarily on wikipedia to create knowledge; I'd of course step into the roles of Vishnu, the preserver by reverting and Siva, the destroyer by deleting, but I foresee that these roles wd take less of my time & inclination given my interest in knowledge creation & assimilation.

It is always thrilling to know that someone from the community believes that you are doing good work.
