What do you think?

[edit]

I've created a page detailing what I percieve to be an appropriate infopage. Does anyone agree/disagree? Comments are welcome.Smallman12q (talk) 17:34, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't read through it all, but something that you'd need to take care of is the 'avoid redundancy' clause. The stuff in content is a copy of what's in WP:POLICY - the best thing to do would be to put "The content standards, as described in WP:POLICY, apply to infopages" in place of that whole section. Same goes for anything else that was copied from other pages. Readers shouldn't have to read both things, and then try to pick out if there are any subtle differences (which will be introduced after a few edits). This page can just defer authority over to wp:policy (and others) on important issues. Really, all this page needs to say is that infopages are neutral ... something. I'm not sure. I think perhaps infopages should just be marked as a type of essay instead, really, to avoid the sort of confusion which makes a large page like this needed.   M   20:13, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well I prefer to be explicit rather than deferring users to a WP:Policy, why not copy it? Perhaps I should state that "The content standards, as described in WP:POLICY, apply to infopages and are summarized below"? I personally would like to have a copy on the page itself.Smallman12q (talk) 20:20, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
