Problems with upload of File:Sayeediofficial.jpg

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Chowdhury A. T. M. Masud, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bengal Province. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from National day of mourning into International Day of Mourning. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 00:41, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your advice. The thing was unknown to me. I will from now on give attribution if I copy any content from other pages. Showib Ahmmed (talk) 14:12, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock Request

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Showib Ahmmed (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 103.178.187.11. Showib Ahmmed (talk) 18:27, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Confirmed proxy (oxylabs/abcproxy). Please disable your proxy and wait a full 24 hours for the block to clear. Yamla (talk) 18:33, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I don't use any proxy in my pc. I've never used it before, and still don't. Please look into this matter carefully. Actually 103.178.187.0/24 IP got blocked but my IP is 103.178.187.11. Showib Ahmmed (talk) 20:41, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

See the spur.us report. Template:Blocked p2p proxy may also be helpful to you. I'm not sure what you are trying to say with the IP address range. Perhaps you don't understand how IP addresses work. 103.178.187.11 is "inside" 103.178.187.0/24 in the same way that Sirajganj is inside Rajshahi. --Yamla (talk) 20:48, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I want to say that proxy can be used by other users of the range from 0 to 24. But 11, that is my IP, is not using and did not use proxy. Showib Ahmmed (talk) 20:52, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's not what the spur.us report says. I'll also note that's still not how IP address ranges work, but that's largely beside the point. 103.178.187.0/24 covers all IP addresses from 103.178.187.0 to 103.178.187.255. --Yamla (talk) 21:01, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
spur.us report says, "There are typically around 100 unique devices active on 103.178.187.11. This means that individual user activity may blend in with other devices." This proxy may be used by another user. I don't use any proxy. Showib Ahmmed (talk) 21:05, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The proxy may indeed be used by another user. That's a great reason to leave the IP address blocked. Regardless, I've reached the end of what I can do for you and and won't be responding further. --Yamla (talk) 21:06, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Mustafa Ayyash.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mustafa Ayyash.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 00:17, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My IP address is currently blocked mistakenly. So I can't participate in the discussion. You have nominated it for self-published and promotional sources. But only one reference is self-published. Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
