Signing your contributions

[edit]

Hey, thanks for all your contributions to Wikipedia. One thing I noticed is that you tend to sign your contributions within the article. Since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, rather than a forum, the policy is to not sign the actual article. If you want to let people know what you added, you can write a little note in the corresponding talk/discussion page, and then sign that, like I will do here. Thanks again, siroχo 14:22, Jul 9, 2004 (UTC)

hmm

[edit]

Ok thanks for the information. Question remains why the option is available though. Anyway it's ok.

Well, the answer to that one is that it's used for talk pages. - Vague | Rant 11:52, Dec 20, 2004 (UTC)
P.S.: See?

Welcome fellow DOA fan

[edit]

I notice your a fellow DOA fan! a suggestion for later articles is that you shouldn't comment on personal prefernce. IE: in the Hitomi (DOA) article, you mention "..she know Ein (best character)..". you should present articles in a neutral, unbiased way. see you later

Some tips to editing articles

[edit]

Hey there,

I saw you had made many edits to Dead or Alive, and thought I'd give some suggestions. In general, encyclopedia articles are not timelines, so don't use sections like ==2000==, ==2001==, etc. Instead use more descriptive headings like ==Recent development== or something. Also, when editing, try not save many edits in a row, rather use the "Show preview" button at the bottom of the edit box to preview your edits as you make them, and then save ALL your edits at once. This makes it easier for everyone to view the evolution of the article.

On the images you uploaded, you stated

I took this picture from Ayane from the game Dead Or Alive 2 copyright S&T Kawaii Love
 [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:S%26T_Kawaii_Love]]

and I have a few things to say.

  1. You shouldn't copyright them to your wikipedia name, you should use {{screenshot}} so that it shows that this is a game screenshot and considered fair use.
  2. You shouldn't link to yourself in this way, it is better to link directly to your user page, ex: [[User:S&T Kawaii Love]] so that it's not an external link. Either way, you are already mentioned as the person who uploaded the image in the file history, so the signature is not needed.

Just some things I wanted to mention. --TIB (talk) 00:25, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)

wikibabel

[edit]

hi. I would highly suggust reading this article Wikipedia:Babel.

to give you an example of what to add, please add this to your user profile:

{{Babel-2|nl-4|en-4}}

as you say that you are from the netherlands, I assume your native language is dutch. correct me if i'm wrong.

also, you seem to speak english very well so I assume to speak english almost fluently.

the reason for adding this is to give other users an indication of your linguistic skills. if you speak any other languages please see the wikibabel page for further info. see you around the wiki --Phil 19:27, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Removal

[edit]

Excuse me, may I inquire why you insist on removing information from the Ayane and Kasumi articles..? I do not wish to get into an edit war over this, and if you continue I will desist good faith and consider it vandalism. -ZeroTalk 18:17, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It appears I must explain why your removal of data form the articles is incorrect:
  • Kasumi and Ayanes' ages: Kasumi is 17, Ayane is 16, it is clearly shown in the Japanese version of the game. Its listed N/A in the American versions becuase they are considered under age in the U.S (See the trivia section)
  • "This makes up for her relative lack of reach and brute strength": This is not "biased". It is based on gameplay information and analysis. Ayane's movelist is considered most effective at mid to short range, where she can air juggle the opponent. She has little "brute strength", as she requires combos and multiple strings on the opponent to cause sufficent damage (unlike a power character such as Bayman or Bass, who require strong sngle hits and throws). Also, instead of reverting pages back and forth, may I suggest you use the talkpages to explain your concensus..? Thank you. -ZeroTalk 18:32, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stop harrassing me!!!!

[edit]

You are incorrect and how dare you call me a vandel you #$%^&*(!! I started the Ayane article in the first place here. You should be ashamed. Why this discussing on my personal page?! I alter pages to make them more correct. Just like you are doing, stop restoring old information. The pages are full of own opinions and unsupported info.

Kasumi and Ayane don't have an age in the US games, this is how Temco created it and wanted it. So respect there wishes. There real age should be in the Japanese wiki version not in the English version. Lack of reach??????!!! Ayane has multiple far distant combo's maybe the most. Who the heck says you are right anyway!! Ayane not being strong is buls***. I am gone from wikipedia if I can't update my own damn article. --S&T Kawaii Love 18:53, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for rubing you the wrong way, but it seems you need a liitle informative words regarding Wikipedian rules and guidelines. I love listing my points whislt I state them, so here goes:
  • "Stop harrassing me!!!!" - I assure you I am not. I simply requested you discuss the matter of removing information in the article and I made no hurtful comments towards you ethier. I did not label you a vandal; I simply cited it is vandalism to remove information without discussion as you have done. However, I will assume good faith based on your actions; it seems you were doing what you thought was correct and I apologize for the comment. However, it does not justify your revision after I have asked you to discuss why.
  • "I started the Ayane article in the first place here. You should be ashamed." - No. I cannot possibly be ashamed of editting information correctly in an article. Also, be aware just because you started an article, does not mean you own it. Read the wikipedia guidelines for more information.
  • "Why this discussing on my personal page?!" - Simple. I want to avoid WP:3RR, and I want to understand your concensus and discuss it in a civil manner. It isn't harressment to discuss the well-being of an article.
  • "There real age should be in the Japanese wiki version not in the English version." - Once again, you do not own anything. This is a wiki. Please note the common wikipedian guideline: If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it. Futhurmore, I already explained why its not included in the American versions in my post above.

Just to help you get used to things
