This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Morgon (character), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Morgon. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 07:28, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Morgon and pasted it into Morgon (character). This is what we call a cut and paste move, and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In two days, you will be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. --Oxymoron83 21:21, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alsace grape designations and vineyard names

[edit]

Hello Kintaro, and welcome on board. I just noticed that you had included many additional entries for Alsace in the list of List of Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée wines a week ago. As it happens, there are exactly three wine AOCs for the Alsace region: Alsace AOC, Alsace Grand Cru AOC and Crémant d'Alsace AOC. All the other are varietal designations or vineyard names (lieux dits) which do not constitute separate AOCs (as e.g. Burgundy's Grand Crus do). Because certain Germanic-influenced labelling/naming practices in Alsace are a little different than in many other French regions (although they all differ from another in some respects...), I assure you that you're not the first one to erroneously believe this. However, I explained this state of affairs on the article's talk page before I cleaned it up some months ago, and I assume that you didn't read that page before you made your changes? :-)
I believe there are actually many things that could be done to update the list (which I suspect to be far from perfect at present) and it would be great if you have the time and patience to do this - but please do check changes (both additions and deletions) against INAO's database on appellation rules [1] to make sure that everything gets correct (including spelling, which I don't always get correct myself). Each AOC has a document of its own at INAO, or shares a document with other AOCs in such a way that all AOC names appear in the title of the document. Things only appearing in the body of the doucument (vineyards, varieties, colors, sweetness levels...) are "designations" of various sorts, not separate AOCs.
By the way, if you're planning on spending a lot of time editing wine-related articles, you could consider joining WP:WINE. Tomas e (talk) 15:41, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Having looked more carefully into your AOC list edits I must ask what you were doing? It looks like you mainly reverted to an older version of the artice which contained a lot of French language terms (vin, vignoble etc.) and frwiki naming conversions, which broke a lot of wikilinks, i.e. gave us redlinks. To me, that is vandalism (perhaps unintended), so I reverted the article to an earlier version. I'm curious what you thought that you were doing to the article with this edit? Please remember that you're editing enwiki! Tomas e (talk) 22:39, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Sw-weg-sheet.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk) 04:20, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ars Magica

[edit]

It's taking more time than I expected, but I'm working on it, yes. Anyway I said I was going to start this weekend, not that the work would be finished so soon... regards. Kintaro-san (talk) 21:43, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No problems. I've taken the liberty of creating Ars Magica (Nerea Riesco novel) as a stub so that Ars Magica (disambiguation) won't be a list of redlinks which might cause it to become targeted for deletion. Please feel free to replace the stub in its entirety when you translate the Spanish wikipedia article. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 22:08, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your rename request

[edit]

Hi there. If you really hold the username "Kintaro" on those wikis as you claim, we can solve this very easily: Just use es:Especial:MergeAccount on the Spanish Wikipedia to unify your accounts. Once you have done so, you can use WP:CHU/SUL on this project to request a quick and easy usurpation of the existing "Kintaro" without any troubles. Regards SoWhy 13:19, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could you make the edit you made here about the merge of the accounts somewhere on the Spanish Wikipedia instead (using "Kintaro" as your username) and then post that diff to your rename request? I am sorry for the additional complications but it is to make sure that you really control both accounts. Regards SoWhy 22:08, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request for help with Catalan roleplaying game book information

[edit]

I noticed that you helped add artists to the RPG project list. I also noticed that you have a Catalan wiki account according to your user page. If it is not too much trouble, would you help expand the entry for Tibet: The Roleplaying Game? It was translated into Catalan and I did add a reference to that book but it would be nice to have a link to Catalan language references to help establish notability. Thanks! Vampyrecat (talk) 05:14, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, thanks for the help. I didn't realize that it had been translated into Spanish as well. Also, I had hoped to add the name of the translator to the citations, so thanks for finding that. Vampyrecat (talk) 00:16, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Killer1982.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Speedy deletion of Frontier Six-Shooter

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Frontier Six-Shooter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Well, I'm not a developer of the software, so I have two suggestions: the MediaWiki software's home is at MediaWiki.org, and there's m:Help:Contents for the MediaWiki software at meta.wikimedia.org. I'm sure someone there can help you. Thanks for the message. :-) KrakatoaKatie 23:22, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Of course you're not bothering me! That's what I'm here for. :-) I just wish I could answer your question. Admins don't necessarily know the tech details of the software - in fact, I'll bet most of us don't.
Hmm... well, WP:VPT probably wouldn't be the place to ask your actual question, but that's where a lot of the developers and programmers hang out. Why not try asking one of them your question, on their user talk page? At least they may be able to steer you in the right direction better than I. - KrakatoaKatie 00:27, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, good - I'm glad I was able to help a little, 'cause I was afraid I wasn't much help at all and I really hate not being of any help. Let me know how it goes! :-) - KrakatoaKatie 21:40, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking

[edit]

Hi Kintaro, thanks for all the excellent work you are doing on scuba-related articles. I hope you don't mind if I point out a difference in practice between French and English Wikipedias: although it is common in the French Wikipedia to link almost any word that is linkable, in the English Wikipedia only "high-value" links are encouraged. There's a section at Wp:Manual of Style/Linking#What generally should not be linked that lists links that generally should not be made. For example, anyone reading Timeline of diving technology is unlikely to find anything of relevance by following a link to an article like England, so we wouldn't make that link in those circumstances. --RexxS (talk) 16:01, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Nick Ryan (director) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. BCD as part of Scuba set

[edit]

Hi Kintaro, Your edit summary on Scuba set states that the BCD is an integral part of the modern scuba set, and therefore your edit is relevant. Maybe I am jumping the gun here, but I think that you should indicate somewhere in the text that this is the case, so that others can see why you added it. It is not obvious that the ABLJ is part of a scuba set as it is a separate device unless linked by a power inflator, and even then not generally used for breathing, however as the precursor to the harness mounted buoyancy compensator types it may be justified as introductory material. The actual relevance of the buoyancy compensator as part of a scuba set is not addressed in your edits. Cheers, • • • Peter (Southwood) (talk): 08:33, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Heroes advertising flyer.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Heroes advertising flyer.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. RJaguar3 | u | t 01:22, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Prehistoric-Beast 2011-rerelease DVD-cover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Absolute dating, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Time scale. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello Kintaro, I noticed you changed "The Château de Chenonceau..." to "The château de Chenonceau...". While it is nowadays most often the case that the "c" of "château" is not capitalized in French-language sources, that is not the usual case in most English-language sources. Here are some examples of this proper name used in fairly recent English-language books: [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]. I think we should probably follow the most common practice found in recent English-language sources. Best, --Robert.Allen (talk) 19:58, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Kintaro.

I noticed you've done some constructive editing recently.
Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; currently Wikipedia needs experienced users at this task. (After gaining the flag, patrolling is not mandatory. One can do it at their convenience). But kindly read the tutorial before making your decision. Thanks. Dear @BOZ:, years ago I was a great RuneQuest fan, and still I am, at least because of my old good times as a roleplayer. The answer to your point ("if you are interested in translat...") is, honestly, no, I'm not. We in the French Wikipedia had a problem with the equivalent list in French, and I decided to bring some help resolving the problem. Now the French list is connected to your list in English through Wikidata, and it has an admissible title and proper categories. My... role (haha) comes to an end at this point. Thank you for your kind message but no, I'm buisy with (and interested by) other subjects now. Cheerio, and may the Daughter of Zorak Zoran spares the tranquility of your nights... Rationale behind List of DCS modules

[edit]

I don't understand making it its own page. I was under the impression that in the DCS page itself it wasn't relevant because of WP:GAMECRUFT #7; how does making it its own page change this rationale? What defense would you put up if it was nominated at AfD? As I see it, the list just isn't a practical addition to Wikipedia for reasons I've already said while removing it from DCS World. HarryKernow (talk) 06:22, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @HarryKernow:. In the first place, I think this list should be considered relevant for the same reasons you may consider any other list in Category:Video game lists by franchise. Second, DCS is a module-based flight simulation game. The list doesn't simply present to the reader an account of "add-ons" or "expansions", but the very substance that mainly constitutes the game itself. Leaving the article with no list at all is fine, but separate lists do exist in this encyclopedia and that specific list is even more relevant than others because of the type of game DCS is. Do you think we should ask others' opinions ? Kind regards. Kintaro (talk) 07:19, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Everything in Category:Video game lists by franchise is a video game or franchise in itself. Modules in DCS do not constitute entire games. Anyway, as I see it, whether or not it's in the DCS World page doesn't matter because the WP:GAMECRUFT rules would seem to apply either way. Nothing about the nature of the information changes just because it's on a separate page. I'm not going to nominate it for deletion but if someone else with a little less interest nominated it I would probably support deletion. You can ask others if you would like but I don't think I will. HarryKernow (talk) 03:53, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @HarryKernow:.
1) You said Everything in Category:Video game lists by franchise is a video game or franchise in itself: HarryKernow, a video game list can also be a list that is related to one or more video games. Category:Lists of video game characters is full of lists and it is included in Category:Video game lists.
2) You said: Modules in DCS do not constitute entire games. You are wrong HarryKernow: they do. This is the very principle of a modular video game as every module is a standalone.
3) You said: Anyway, as I see it, whether or not it's in the DCS World page doesn't matter because the WP:GAMECRUFT rules would seem to apply either way. HarryKernow, all the lists you may find in categories like Category:Video game lists are obviously linked somewhere in the encyclopedia, even more obviously linked in their corresponding related articles. As an example, List of GoldSrc mods is linked in the header of section Legacy in Half-Life (video game).
Kind regards. Kintaro (talk) 04:32, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
