File permission problem with File:Chandola Lake Photo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chandola Lake Photo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:03, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect speedy nomination

[edit]

What's the deal with this? I hope its a just a mistake. There's no call for deleting this inoffensive disambiguation page at all, let alone speedily. Be careful when tagging articles for speedy deletion, please! Herostratus (talk) 14:43, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The page has multiple issues for speedy deletion like No citations, references, insufficient data etc. Hence, nominated for speedy deletion.Jaladhi (talk) 05:48, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Disambiguation pages don't need and in fact seldom have references and all that other stuff. They are essentially indexes or tables of contents. See WP:DISAMBIGUATION for more details. Herostratus (talk) 08:26, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Kavitha (actress)

[edit]

Hello సుల్తాన్ ఖాదర్,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kavitha (actress) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Jaladhi (talk) 12:26, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jaladhi2020 , Kavitha (actress) is an south Indian actress , popularly known in Telugu Language and Tamil_language. you can find the details here and her pictures here. I am highly disappointed by your act of deleting it without giving me proper time. You should have done a Google search before doing such act. I am now feeling that I have wasted my time in writing wiki articles. Please try to know about the article before you doing such kind of action. Being a Wiki Admin, you should not misuse your deletion Privileges. I hope you re create the article and can ask some more details. Since you don't know South Indian languages, You should not show discrimination on them.--సుల్తాన్ ఖాదర్ (talk) 07:55, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article you created was very short and lacked importance of the subject for the world wide users to understand. It is deleted as per deletion policy of the wikipedia. Please refer Articles for Creation to create meaningful new pages.Jaladhi (talk) 09:55, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Surender Nada requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion declined: Uzham

[edit]

Hello Jaladhi2020. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Uzham, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional, identifies the the subject of the article, and a film directed by Jeethu Joseph starring Prithviraj Sukumaran would be notable. WP:NFF is the issue here. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 10:21, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

[edit]

Hi. I have declined your speedy deletion request at Kanji homograph, as all three reasons you gave were inapplicable...

  • G11 - it did not appear to consist of advertising or promotion at all
  • A1 - the context is very clear
  • A7 - only applies to "individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events"

Please take care when reviewing new articles, and please do not make speedy deletion requests until you understand the categories. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 15:05, 7 March 2016 (UTC) ok. Page is marked as unreviewed. Jaladhi (talk) 05:11, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

More speedy deletion problems

[edit]

You have just nominated a perfectly good disambiguation page at Andheri station with the reason "no context". "No context" seems to be one of your favourite reasons, but I don't think you even understand what the word "context" means! You are making far too many mistakes in your nominations for deletion, and I ask you now to STOP making all speedy deletion nominations until you have a lot more experience and you actually understand what all the reasons mean. These really are basic errors that anyone with a good command of English and a basic understanding of Wikipedia's requirements should not be making, and if you continue like this then I will block you from editing - I really don't want to, but bad nominations like these can drive away new editors.
