Regarding your messages

[edit]

Hello! 😊

I am Waysidesc (talk). You've twice tried to communicate with me, once in my talk page, and once in Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Software/Free and open-source software task force. It is a matter of shame for me that I've neglected your messages. I am very sorry. I would like to let you know that you are without doubt the nicest person I have ever seen on Wikipedia. (Actually, you are the third nice person I have seen so far. Everyone else's treatment has left much to be desired.)

I'm afraid I cannot accept your invitation to WP:FOSS because I am not a very active editor. (I've been here since 2020 and I have 1,000 edits.) When I have time, I can copyedit one or two articles, but that's all. I excel in legal and copyright matters, so I can provide consultation, but nobody wants that kind of help. Hello @Waysidesc,
I am glad to see your reply. I understand your sentiment very well. I made bad experiences as in WP:BITE too. I newer than you to WP and thus have even less contributions than you.
Having limited time is not an issue since every contribution counts. I love to hear that you are an expert in legal and copyright matters. It's easier to survive here on WP if you got someone who got your back. And you got my attention and would love to have you around.
I actually have several questions for you in legal and copyright. How about your say hello in IRC and we can have some chit chat and discuss our experiences and how we can improve FOSS topics together. Just drop in any time and we will see when we are both online at the same time.

Hmm... I've never used IRC in my life. I'll see if I can find some learning material. Until then, you're welcome in my talk page. Waysidesc (talk) 03:00, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Waysidesc Try IRC. It's not hard at all. And is a good alternative to Discord and others because it's decentralized. I put some details here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Software/Free_and_open-source_software_task_force#New_IRC_Channel_for_WP:FOSS

@Waysidesc I saw you in IRC :)
Although our timing didn't match. Best is to just say hello there, mention my name and stay there until I see it. IRC is designed to staying online. Hope to catch you there these days
