BTW is there a reason, why the cropped image was uploaded only locally and not to Commons? Armbrust The Homunculus 15:37, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alcázar of Seville

The Alcázar of Seville is a royal palace in Seville, Spain, built for the Christian king Peter of Castile in 1364–1366. It was built by Castilian Christians on the site of an Abbadid Muslim alcázar, or residential fortress, destroyed after the Christian reconquest of Seville. The palace is a prime example of Mudéjar architecture in the Iberian Peninsula, but also features elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Romanesque architecture from previous stages of construction. This photograph depicts the domed ceiling of the Hall of Ambassadors in the Alcázar of Seville.

Argiope trifasciata

Argiope trifasciata, the banded garden or banded orb-weaving spider, is a species of arachnid in the family Araneidae. It is native to North and South America but has spread to other parts of the world. This ventral view of a female A. trifasciata shows her in the centre of her web, which can reach a diameter of 60 cm (24 in). The function of the zig-zag web decorations is unclear, but they may serve to make the spider appear larger or to act as a warning sign.

Alcobaça Monastery

The Alcobaça Monastery is a Catholic monastic complex located in the town of Alcobaça, Portugal, 120 km north of Lisbon. It was established in 1153 by the first Portuguese king, Afonso Henriques, and developed a close association with the Portuguese monarchy throughout its history, leading it to become the richest and most influential monastery in Portugal. By 1300, it had a population of almost 1,000 monks and business interests including farming, fishing and trade. It closed in 1834, amid the dissolution of the monasteries in Portugal. Due to its artistic, cultural and historical relevance as one of Portugal's oldest Gothic buildings, the monastery and its church were included in UNESCO's World Heritage Site list in 1989.

Batalha Monastery

Batalha Monastery is a Dominican convent in the municipality of Batalha in Portugal. Originally and officially known as the Monastery of Saint Mary of the Victory, it was erected in commemoration of the 1385 Battle of Aljubarrota and would serve as the burial church of the 15th-century Aviz dynasty of Portuguese royalty. It is one of the best and original examples of Late Flamboyant Gothic architecture in Portugal, intermingled with the Manueline style. The monastery is a historic and cultural monument and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
