Hello! Good work on updating/creating all the previous Heineken Cup pool stage articles. I started doing that a few months back, but didn't have the determination to stick it out and finish them all! Nice work! Nouse4aname (talk) 16:32, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Template:Largest cities of Belgium

[edit]

Could you please provide a proper source for the template Template:Largest cities of Belgium? A wikipage is not a proper source. To make it even worse, that artikel you link to, is also based on a wikipage. So please, provide proper sources. Night of the Big Wind talk 21:39, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

Nice that you make loads of templates, but do you mind to clean up your own mess? Most templates are unfinished (like Template:Largest cities of Venezuela and contain links to disambiguation pages. Please do something about it quickly. Night of the Big Wind talk 23:23, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

May I respectfully disagree with you here, User: Night of the Big Wind ? The way I see it, User: Maxtremus is placing these templates on what appear to be thousands of articles, and the template is his contribution. Let others--who benefit from the improvement that he has provided--now do the work of which you speak. It will take only a short time for those who care about the article Venezuela to deal with the matter of that one template, but if Maxtremus had to "clean up his mess", as you understandably but unfortunately call it, then hundreds of articles would be denied his improvement, as his time would be spent doing work that others can do. For example, I recently found the cities template that he did for Illinois. Yes, he failed to place the political subdivisions (counties) in the template, leaving it with some blank brackets that needed to be filled. It took me about five minutes to fix the problem, during which time he was probably able to plant the same template on probably about 30 other articles. And now those users can each take five minutes to fix up the templates they care about, while Max does more good work. It's a good model, and I support him in the way he is doing it. Faulty templates at ANI

[edit]

Please stop creating templates based on non-reliable sources and replacing reliably sourced text with these faulty templates; I have raised the problem at ANI because of the extensive cleanup that will be needed to address these templates here. It would be most appreciated if you would join in the cleanup, deletion, and removal of this non-reliably sourced information. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 03:26, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Will you be helping in the cleanup? All of these templates need to be reverted from articles, as they are based on non-reliable sources. Please brush up on WP:RS, and also please review WP:OWN#Featured articles and refrain from dropping information like this into FAs. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:03, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Maxtremus, while I truly like the look of your templates, I didn't recognize where your information was coming from (I see it now, but on my monitor, the link in the top stripe of the template is nearly invisible). This editor, User:SandyGeorgia, is one of the most prestigious editors on Wikipedia; he/she has a lot of responsibilities, and if he/she has a concern with your templates, you'd be best off taking it seriously. Given that I supported you here, I really feel like I should help with the cleanup, but it not only is the end of my day, I won't have more than 10 minutes to spend on Wikipedia for the next week. I encourage you to ask SandyGeorgia how you can assist with the cleanup. When that is done, I would be willing to work with you on appropriate placement of your templates. Of course, I know little about such things (as evidenced by this whole fiasco), but would be willing to learn.
Don't get discouraged; you've obviously got some great ideas and some significant talent. Maybe see you next Sunday. HuskyHuskie (talk) 05:32, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Max; while I doubt that I'm "one of the most prestigious editors on Wikipedia", I'm here to second Husky in asking you not to get discouraged. We all make mistakes, and most of them are fixable on Wikipedia-- I'm sure I've made worse mistakes than this one ! You did put a lot of work in to them, and no one can be faulted for good faith attempts. It looks like most of the templates have been removed from articles now, so the next concern is what to do about the templates since they all use non-reliable sources. To avoid a large community TFD (Templates for deletion) discussion, one thing you might do is put a {{db-author}} on them. As mentioned at ANI, the generic template {{Largest cities}} is always available if there is consensus at any article to use it, but ten largest cities is not necessarily a desired addition to most articles, and the format of this one is not enhancing the articles where I've seen it used. Since you created them, you have the leeway to delete most of them by adding the db-author, and that will save the community time in not having to submit them to TFD. It was a helpful notion, and your effort is appreciated! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 13:09, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Maxtremus. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, List of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series records, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chihuahua (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). A tag has been placed on Category:Airports in Entre Ríos Province requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! Eric talk 01:52, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Moves of "series" to "video game series"

[edit]

Hello Maxtremus,

Not sure why you did it because you didn't make any talk page comment or explain your move in your edit summary at all, which you should absolutely do, but the process for controversial moves on Wikipedia is the WP:RM process. I've reverted some of your moves because there's no consensus that "video game series" is preferred to "series", especially for franchises that include non-video games. See the discussion at Talk:Ys_(series)#Requested_move_8_February_2018 for example. If you feel very strongly, I recommend you open RM discussions per the procedure I linked before.
