Duplicating category?

[edit]

I wonder, is there a point to having both this list and Category:Trumpeters? --Nethgirb 21:54, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who gets added to the list?

[edit]

I am a trumpeter, can I add myself? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.215.132.214 (talk) 03:43, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As the list intro states, this is a list of notable trumpeters; the standard for notability is the same as for having an article on the person on Wikipedia, so the general requirement for these lists is that the person's article exists - i.e. no redlinks. By that rule, there are several people that should be removed. AUTiger » talk 04:14, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dates?

[edit]

This would be a more useful list if active dates were given for each trumpeter, or failing that, if it were divided up by either musical period (Baroque; Classical; Romantic, etc.) or at least by century (17thl 18th; 19th; 20th), — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.89.176.249 (talk) 23:45, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to the list - Susan Slaughter

[edit]

Susan Slaughter should be on this list. She was principal tpt of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for 40 yrs.

From her Wikipedia entry: Susan Slaughter is an American orchestral trumpet player. She was principal trumpet player of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for 40 years, from 1972 until 2010. She is the first woman to hold the position of principal trumpet in a major American orchestra. She is also the founder of the International Women's Brass Conference and Monarch Brass, an all female brass ensemble. MaryAlthea (talk) 21:27, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mic Gillett

[edit]

Like Greg Adams, Mic was a trumpet player for Tower Of Power and I believe also their lead trumpet besides doing many other projects including teaching horn (trombone, bass trombone, trumpet, etc.) at Cal State Hayward. His solo on "Your Still A Young Man" is the stuff of legends. KrisCollino (talk) 01:56, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
