The Cars Toons
[edit]I have just added the FOUR Cars Toons to the list of shorts. As per the latest Tokyo Mater see the 2nd reference - it will apparently debut with Bolt from the 12th.. I was going to start a seperate section on this page, much like I have done on the PIXAR Films template, but as this does not state shorts I assume it is okay to put the TV shorts in this list too.
For that matter (this is more to do with the template), with the addition of this latest short, the series is no longer TV exclusive, so should the short films section be opened up to include ALL shorts irrespective of where they debut (well it kind of is already with the DVD shorts but whatever)...
Anyway I leave this open for any discussion that might fall out from this. Cheers. SWatsi (talk) 20:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- The only reason I would not list them in the same section with the other shorts is that it appears that these are a series as opposed to stand-alones. I would hate for 20-30 Cars Toons to be released and glob up the list...although if there do end up being that many, we'll just export that section over to their own section or to Cars Toons, perhaps? SpikeJones (talk) 20:37, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oh yeah I agree, if the list becomes too long it should be broken down. Though the Disney Shorts list IS done in one long list, with Mickey, Donald, Silly Symphony's etc... - the problem with that one is that its so long and starts to become unhelpful. I wouldn't want this list to go the same way in a couple of years. SWatsi (talk) 20:56, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Toon Disney
[edit]Toon Disney is now called disney XD so i think undder the cars toons table thoose names should be changed. If the shorts were released when it was called toon disney i think in perentheses it should say something like now called disney xd. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.248.80.26 (talk) 21:56, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Mr. Incredibles & Friends, Exploring the Reef, and George & A.J.
[edit]These are not recognized as shorts in the sense of the rest of the list. I've moved them to a separate section on this page and on the template. Mr. Incredible & Friends is a mockumentary and is listed under "Other" on the DVD, not as a short. Exploring the Reef is an educational film by Jean-Michael Cousteau with Nemo characters as sidekicks. I haven't seen George & A.J. but it is not listed as a short film on Pixar's website. Pejorative.majeure (talk) 00:51, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Neither are Dug's Special Mission nor Day & Night. dogman15 (talk) 22:03, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
The Adventures of Andre and Wally B.
[edit]I removed the claim that The Adventures of Andre and Wally B. was theatrically released with Toy Story, because, well, it wasn't. As the lead paragraph states:
- Beginning with Pixar's second film A Bug's Life, all subsequent Pixar feature films have been shown along with a theatrically-released Pixar-created short.
If showing a short along with each Pixar feature began with the second Pixar feature A Bug's Life, then, obviously, the first Pixar feature would not have had a short before it. And, in fact, it didn't.--Metropolitan90 (talk) 21:00, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
On iTunes store
[edit]I just checked the iTunes (UK) store, and these shorts were available for purchase:
- For the Birds
- Boundin'
- Knick Knack
- One Man Band
- Geri's Game
- Luxo Jr.
- Tin Toy
- Red's Dream
Are the rest of the shorts up to Presto in the US store, or is the information in the article inaccurate? —87.115.103.10 (talk) 09:55, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- I don't have an iTunes account, so this question is best left to be answered by someone else. dogman15 (talk) 23:06, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- I just checked iTunes using my dad's account on his computer, and every single short film except for BURN-E and Dug's Special Mission can be purchased. Searching "BURN-E Pixar" does reveal a fan commentary for the short film by the folks at PixarPlanet. dogman15 (talk) 18:41, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Use of rowspan in shorts table
[edit]Please use rowspan only for those things that "span" multiple shorts - in particular, years and DVDs. 2005 saw both Jack-Jack Attack and One Man Band. The Cars DVD included One Man Band and Mater and the Ghostlight.
On the other hand, while Geri's Game and For the Birds were both Best Animated Short Film winners, their wins were completely independent of one another.
Tables with heavy use of rowspan are hard to follow; let's not use it when it's not appropriate. Use it when it's semantically meaningful, not as a table optimization mechanism.

Table looks funny when sorted.
[edit]Could someone who is more wiki talented than myself fix the table so it is sortable by date without screwing up the columns? Patrick McDougle (talk) 00:23, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
- Alas, that probably can't be fixed unless we abandon the usage of rowspan to tie various rows together. Absent that, the "sortable" tag should probably be removed. Jordan Brown (talk) 08:05, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Theme Parks
[edit]I added the theme park film to this article It's Tough to be a Bug! is an an 8-minute, 3D movie and multimedia show, fun for big kids, teens and adults, performed in an air-conditioned movie theater embedded in the enormous root structure of The Tree of Life in Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. It's Tough to be a Bug! is hosted by Flik, everybody's favorite ant, and his grasshopper friend, Hopper, from the Disney·Pixar film A Bug's Life. The supporting cast consists of cute and creepy crawlers like spiders, termites, beetles, weevils and butterflies. These amazing and amusing insects and arachnids invite the audience to be honorary bugs. Through 3D "Bug-Eye" glasses, get a fascinating and hilarious look into the animal kingdom that just might change your perspective enough to think: "It's Tough to be a Bug! Insects should be our friends." But Hopper reveals humans as bugs' biggest enemy, and suddenly it's a swarm of activity. Hornets go in for the sting and everyone's a-buzz, reacting to the startling, surprising (and possibly frightening for little grubs, er, little ones) in-theater special effects. Finally, Flik cues the finale and the show metamorphoses into its sweet spectacular finish. Gotta take it from an ant: from cocoon to curtain call, It's Tough to be a Bug!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tTxSqj4wvY&feature=relatedDoctorHver (talk) 23:26, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

A Computer Animated Hand
[edit]I just found out that an IP included A Computer Animated Hand in the "Theatrical short films" section by copying all The Adventures of André & Wally B. part of the table. As Pixar was not founded until 1979 under Lucasfilm's ownership and Edwin Catmull was still an university student at this time, I think A Computer Animated Hand doesn't count as a Pixar short film, so I wish to remove it from the "Theatrical short films" section's table.--André the Android(talk) 15:48, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I had to remove A Computer Animated Hand from the list myself because it didn't count as a Pixar short film, as I had explained in the edit summary.--André the Android(talk) 21:47, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
Dante's Lunch – A Short Tail
[edit]This short was released online on March 29, 2017 but isn't listed at all on this page. It is definitely Feature Related but it was released before the film online in stead of afterwards along with the home video release so it won't fit neatly into the table. I'm not sure how to list it but it obviously needs to be included somewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pinkmanlovemouth (talk • contribs) 06:24, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- I agree it should be listed on this page. I've added it many years ago to the italian page as Promotional Shorts (see here), alongside the 3 Ken's dating tips videos and Groovin' with Ken!, which aren't listed either (you can find them here: Tip #24, Tip #31, Tip #48 and Groovin' with Ken!). Could the solution I used for the italian wiki be used here? --Teoamez (talk) 17:40, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
Merged page
[edit]Create a Page List of Pixar productions merging between Films, Shorts and Series into Single page! 178.214.247.2 (talk) 15:03, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose; you've said what you want, but not why you want it. That is, what problem are you trying to solve. My view is that the current structure works well for readers. Klbrain (talk) 13:12, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose; due to a lack of rationale (reason) for a page merge. I currently do not see a rationale for this page merge myself. CANthony0125 (talk) 16:16, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose; according to WP:MERGE, rationale to merge include duplicate pages (each of these Pixar pages is not a duplicate of another), overlap (they only overlap from being produced by Pixar, not from overlap in content), short text (each page has sufficient amount of text), insufficient notability (although part of Pixar productions, they each stand on their own), or context (each stands on their own). Each of the pages are lengthy enough, and if merged would create imo a unfocused page to read and consume. Erictleung (talk) 02:48, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
